Overview
To outline our Disaster Recovery and Response Policies.
Purpose.
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that customers data is properly handled in the
event of a failure.
Scope.
This applies to any and all Yellow Dog Software Hosted Server Environments and
associated Customer Databases.
Policy.
Backup Process Overview
Database Optimization runs nightly from the hosted server and takes a backup of the complete database via SQL Backup.
Backups are kept on separate physical RAID 1 arrays, then uploaded to our cloud storage service (iDrive) for redundancy.
7 days of backups are kept on the on BackBlaze B2 Cloud Storage.
Backups located on Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage services are encrypted with AES 256bit ciphers.
Backups are checked for integrity monthly. IT Staff handles management of encryption keys.
Recovery Point Objective (RPO)
Our database optimization runs nightly, and generates a SQL backup file containing all of
the data in the database. Backups are saved for 7 days both on the server and the Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage. In
the event of critical failure, data is never more than 24 hours old.
Recovery Time Objective (RTO)
Our RTO is defined by the database being online and accessible from the internet. In the
event of critical failure, we can bring the database to that state in at most 8 hours.
