POS Migrations
Process
Migrating to a new POS system is a very detailed process and should be treated as such. Most of our POS integrations require extensive configuration and testing to ensure items are setup properly in the POS and report properly to Yellow Dog to maintain accurate on hand counts.
Project Steps
Conference Call to discuss tasks and dates
Determine if an upgrade to Yellow Dog is needed
POS server review to ensure appropriate .NET version and other system requirements are met.
Configure POS interfaces in Yellow Dog
Test interfaces
Test barcode scanning
Test Sales reporting
Provide training and documentation on the new POS interface configuration
Review with customer and close the migration project
Timeframe
Most migrations can be completed in one day. However, some systems require more configuration and can take up to a week to complete.
Leadtime
Yellow Dog will require a minimum 30 days from executed agreement to to schedule the conversion and meet your go live for the new POS system. In general, the more time we have to prepare for the migration, the better more work we can complete ahead of time to make the transition as smooth as possible.
Requirements
The following tasks must be completed before Yellow Dog can begin working on the migration:
Sign and return Yellow Dog labor proposal
Provide contact information for your POS consultant implementing the new system
Provide your companies IT contact(s) who can provide assistance with things like, but not limited to:
Network access
Server access
Domain users and permissions
POS details
Version
Cloud server or On-premise
